Kaspa community split: panic or long-term conviction?

Hey, welcome to Kaspa Daily Pulse – here’s what the Kaspa community’s been buzzing about today.

First up, the mood is peak “coping and coping harder.” You’ve got people joking that “Kaspa is doomed” and comparing the chart to a shriveled old man… and yet in the same breath, they’re buying more around the five-cent range, stacking every month for a year, and planning to hold and DCA for another seven years if they have to. It’s pain, but it’s committed pain – classic Kaspa.

On the exchange front, it’s all about listings and politics. Rumors are flying about a potential HTX listing – people point out it’s a top-ten exchange with roughly triple Kraken’s daily volume and a strong Asian user base – but there’s no official confirmation shared in chat, just screenshots, jokes and copium. Meanwhile, folks give KEF some grudging respect for securing a new mid-sized exchange listing and actively talking with majors like OKX, Crypto.com, Upbit and even Coinbase, while Binance is framed as the stubborn final boss. “Bye-Nance,” as they keep saying.

On the tech side, today’s rabbit hole was throughput and roadmap. People shared live stats like roughly nine to ten blocks per second on mainnet, debated whether one hundred blocks per second is realistic anytime soon, and talked about private testnets that supposedly hit that mark already. The consensus: you need DAGKNIGHT plus better hardware assumptions to scale, but nodes still have to stay cheap – cue a whole side-quest comparing six-euro VPS plans to beefier twenty-nine-euro boxes. Shai was quoted as saying v-programs are still “a long way off,” so smart-contract dreams are firmly in the “later” bucket.

Ecosystem-wise, a couple of real signals. Kasia on iOS does exist internally – the dev confirmed it runs on their Mac, but it’s not public yet – and they’ve now enrolled in the Apple developer program, which is a concrete step toward an actual App Store release. At the same time, people are harsh on earlier infra like Kasplex and KNS, calling them “meh” or even “money suckers,” and pinning a lot of hope – and anxiety – on upcoming pieces like Igra and whether the world even cares about smart contracts on proof-of-work. Oh, and one dev dropped that they landed a one-year KEF grant to work full-time on Kaspa L1, which is huge for core protocol progress.

And finally, the community itself is loud and global. Russian chats on Telegram are “active as hell” with around six-and-a-half thousand members, people are seeing Kaspa merch all over Asian YouTube shorts, and yet Discord is still just the same seven degenerates arguing about diets, vodka, and whether to delete their Binance accounts… while quietly buying more KAS.

That’s it for today’s pulse. Let’s see what tomorrow brings. Catch you then.
